Employee Relations Specialist

About the Role
The Employee Relations Advisor will join our dynamic team and share their ER/IR expertise during negotiations for new enterprise agreements across council. As a key member of the Employee Relations team within the People and Culture Branch, they will provide advice on the employment framework and undertake a range of activities to support the Employee Relations Manager in the negotiation of enterprise agreements and various people and culture projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the team on the negotiation of enterprise agreements and people and culture projects
- Undertake research, analysis, and provide advice on employment conditions and industrial relations issues
- Draft enterprise agreement provisions and co-ordinate the consultation and approval processes
- Interpret agreements, awards, employment conditions, and related legislation, and provide relevant advice to stakeholders
- Provide support to the wider employee relations team across a range of complex matters
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in business, psychology, employment law, or a related discipline
- High-level written and oral communication skills to undertake negotiation and liaison
- The ability to work as part of a team and establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-level advice and interpretation of relevant legislation, industrial awards, enterprise agreements, policies, and procedures
- High-level research and analytical skills
About the Benefits
This is a fixed-term position until June 2025, full-time, level 6 with a salary commencing at $100,533 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
