About the Role

Ipswich City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Labor Relations Specialist to join our dynamic team. This exciting opportunity will see you play a key role in providing expert advice on employment conditions, industrial relations issues, and enterprise agreement negotiations.

As part of our Employee Relations team, you will work closely with stakeholders to interpret agreements, awards, and legislation, ensuring compliance and best practice. Your expertise will be essential in drafting enterprise agreement provisions, coordinating consultation and approval processes, and providing support to the wider employee relations team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the team to negotiate enterprise agreements and people and culture projects
  • Undertake research, analysis, and provide advice on employment conditions and industrial relations issues
  • Draft enterprise agreement provisions and coordinate the consultation and approval processes
  • Interpret agreements, awards, employment conditions, and related legislation, and provide relevant advice to stakeholders
  • Provide support to the wider employee relations team across a range of complex matters such as employee relations case management, investigations, reporting, and projects

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in business, psychology, employment law, or a related discipline
  • High-level written and oral communication skills to undertake negotiation and liaison
  • The ability to work as part of a team and establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level advice and interpretation of relevant legislation, industrial awards, enterprise agreements, policies, and procedures
  • High-level research and analytical skills

About the Benefits
