About the Role

The City of Ipswich is seeking a highly skilled Employee Relations Advisor to join our dynamic team. As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will be part of the Employee Relations team within the People and Culture Branch and provide expert advice on the employment framework.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the team to negotiate enterprise agreements and people and culture projects
  • Undertake research, analysis, and provide advice on employment conditions and industrial relations issues
  • Draft enterprise agreement provisions and coordinate the consultation and approval processes
  • Interpret agreements, awards, employment conditions, and related legislation, and provide relevant advice to stakeholders
  • Provide support to the wider employee relations team across a range of complex matters such as employee relations case management, investigations, reporting, and projects

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in business, psychology, employment law, or a related discipline
  • High-level written and oral communication skills to undertake negotiation and liaison
  • The ability to work as part of a team and establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level advice and interpretation of relevant legislation, industrial awards, enterprise agreements, policies, and procedures
  • High-level research and analytical skills

About the Benefits

This is a fixed-term position until June 2025, full-time, level 6 with a salary commencing at $100,533 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
