About the Role:

As a Process Engineer at Sharp & Carter, you will play a key role in optimizing food manufacturing processes and plant operations. This 6-month contract position reports to the Engineering Manager, and your responsibilities will include evaluating, improving, and maintaining production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing production processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design and implement process enhancements to optimize production while maintaining product quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations, equipment failures, and quality issues, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to scale up new products and processes from pilot to full production.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively seeking out opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and workflows.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff to ensure proper execution of manufacturing processes.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in process engineering within the food industry, with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
