Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Resident Storage Engineer to join our team at Green Light Worldwide. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our storage infrastructure, ensuring seamless data storage and retrieval for our clients.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Storage Infrastructure Management: Monitor, review, and manage our Dell ECS and Isilon clusters to ensure optimal performance and capacity utilization.
  2. Directory and Share Management: Create, modify, and manage directories and shares on our Dell Isilon clusters, ensuring secure access and permissions.
  3. File Management and Migration: Track file moves and deletions, migrate datasets between clusters, and implement emcopy for remote Windows file server migration.
  4. Security and Compliance: Implement Superna hosts for Ransomware Defender, configure VLANs on Dell switches, and manage Dell SCG Policy Manager.
Administration and Problem Management
  1. Incident Management: Isolate and troubleshoot incidents, perform service incident coordination, and open service requests on behalf of clients.
  2. Log Management: Monitor, review, and manage log files to ensure optimal system performance.
Change Management and Continual Service Improvement
  1. Change Management: Implement change management requests, assist with software and firmware management, and collaborate on solution documentation.
  2. Continual Service Improvement: Recommend procedure changes for operational optimization, share best practices, and provide performance-tuning recommendations.
Post-Implementation Planning and Knowledge Sharing
  1. Transition Planning: Perform transition planning with the deployment team, conduct knowledge transfer, and provide recommendations on product enhancements and upgrades.
  2. Knowledge Sharing: Set up initial reports on supported products, implement Dell System Management Tools, and perform run-book updates.
