About the Job

Our team is seeking an experienced Animal Services Support Officer to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

This role involves working with the public to assist in their compliance with responsible animal ownership and handling animal-related tasks in line with our welfare ethics. You will be highly motivated, have advanced animal handling techniques in line with low-stress handling and welfare ethics, and be capable of safe capture, restraint, and transport of animals including livestock.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out tasks to meet customer and business needs within nominated time frames
  • Seize and/or impound companion animals in compliance with legislative requirements and our policies and procedures
  • Facilitate the surrender of companion animals and the impounding of livestock at designated facilities
  • Reunite animal owners with their pets as quickly as possible
  • Educate animal owners on provisions of legislation which affect them
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Formal qualifications or demonstrated high level experience in animal management or a similar regulatory environment
  • Experience handling companion animals
  • Strong knowledge of animal care and welfare issues
  • High level oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Current class C driver's licence
