**About the opportunity**

Our Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre (BARC) is looking for skilled Animal Attendant to join our team of professional animal lovers

We are looking for an individual who is familiar with pound and shelter animal management practices.

This role focuses on enhancing our image as a customer service provider and ensuring that animals in our care are treated humanely in accordance with accepted standards, codes, Acts and regulations.

Weekend overtime may be occasionally required.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Relevant qualifications in an appropriate field
- Significant experience in handling companion animals
- Current class C driver’s licence.

**Desirable**:

- Qualified microchip implanter
- Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of animal care and welfare issues
- Developed verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to drive manual vehicle
- Experience in handling livestock.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,156.81 per week
- 38-hour working week
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
