About the Role
  • As an Animal Attendant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality animal care, including cleaning cages/enclosures, medicating, feeding, exercising, and assessing animals.
  • You will also provide basic first aid to animals where required, ensuring their health and well-being.
  • Your excellent communication skills will enable you to work effectively with managers and colleagues, sharing information and collaborating on tasks.
  • You will provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders, including members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform animal care tasks such as cleaning cages/enclosures, medicating, feeding, exercising, and assessing animals.
  • Provide basic first aid to animals where required.
  • Ensure high-level communication with managers and colleagues to ensure all information is provided to the required parties.
  • Provide high-level customer service to all stakeholders, including members of the public.
What We Are Looking For
  • Certificate II in Animal Care or equivalent experience is essential.
  • Previous animal handling skills and experience working with animals in a similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work rotating rosters, including weekends and public holidays.
  • The desire to work with people to improve animal welfare outcomes.
  • Initiative and ability to prioritise.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to conduct manual handling tasks.
  • Resilience - the ability to bounce back from occasional setbacks.
