**The Role of a Principal Advisor**

The Aboriginal Housing Unit requires an experienced Principal Advisor to lead key initiatives and projects across Homes Victoria, with a strong focus on building partnerships with stakeholders in the Aboriginal community.

This role is critical in driving housing outcomes for Aboriginal communities through strategic planning, project management, and collaboration with various government agencies.

  • Develop and implement project plans that align with departmental objectives and priorities outlined in Mana-na woorn-tyeen maar-takoort: Every Aboriginal Person has a Home, The Victorian Aboriginal Housing and Homelessness Framework.
  • Lead cross-government relationships and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve successful project delivery and completion within resourcing, timeline, and parameters.

**Key Accountabilities Include:**

1. Project Management

  1. Research, analyze, and implement complex projects based on defined outcomes and outputs.
  2. Manage and oversee projects or sub-projects, ensuring successful delivery and completion within budget, timeline, and parameters.
  3. Monitor and evaluate projects to ensure alignment with departmental objectives.

2. Leadership and Advice

Provide authoritative guidance and advice to internal and external stakeholders, preparing and presenting detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet submissions, and agency submissions on complex matters.

3. Relationship Building

Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach and drive collaborative outcomes.
