Senior Speech Language Pathologist
">About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Speech Language Pathologist to join our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service. The ideal candidate will have expertise in providing high-level clinical services and professional leadership to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing across Queensland.
Your Responsibilities:- Provide expert clinical advice and guidance to speech language pathologists across the state, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based services that enhance student learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to ensure inclusive education practices and equitable access to high-quality learning for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Maintain currency of knowledge and skills in education-based speech language pathology services, particularly for students with diverse communication needs.
- Participate in service planning at school and whole-of-state levels, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and present papers related to the department's speech language pathology services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service students.
- Qualified Speech Language Pathologist registered or eligible to practice in Queensland.
- Fluent Auslan (Australian Sign Language) or significant proficiency; experience with Auslan-based assessments and therapy preferred.
- Experience delivering speech language pathology services in educational settings and ability to work collaboratively with educators and families.
- Ability to provide professional leadership and supervise or mentor other SLPs.
- Current Working with Children clearance (blue card) or the ability to obtain one.
- Commitment to inclusive education and evidence-based practice.
This is a full-time position with flexible work arrangements considered, including job-sharing between part-time applicants.
