About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide linguistic and cultural expertise to support mental health services, sharing insights from lived Deaf culture experiences.
  • Deliver cultural awareness training and education to enhance understanding and inclusion within healthcare settings.
  • Lead and support projects focused on culturally and linguistically diverse and disability improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • You are passionate about fostering equity and inclusion within mental health services for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
  • Proven experience in delivering cultural awareness training and education, ideally within health or community services.
  • Strong understanding of Deaf culture, mental health, and the unique challenges faced by Deaf and hard of hearing consumers.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and communities.
