**Job Overview**

We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to lead a small team of lawyers and advise on corporate and commercial law arrangements. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the CEO and CFO on general company initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical and pragmatic corporate, commercial, and technology law advice
  • Manage the insurance portfolio and leasing arrangements from a legal perspective
  • Negotiate major deals in conjunction with Sales or Line of Business personnel
  • Manage all litigation for the company and pre-litigation advice
  • Assist relevant commercial personnel with the preparation of responses to customer tenders
  • Train Sales and Account Management personnel on legal risks such as Australian Consumer Law and Privacy
  • Supervise the senior legal professionals in business as usual and project work

Ideal Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in NSW (circa 10+ years PQE)
  • Experience as either a General Counsel looking to broaden their experience, Senior in-house Lawyer in a fast-paced environment, or a commercially focused Senior Associate from a highly regarded law firm
  • Experience in an in-house ICT or sales-focused environment is highly desirable
  • Ability to take ownership of multiple responsibilities including Company Secretary duties
