About this Role
  • The primary purpose of this role is to manage portfolios, achieve business targets, rate and retention for assigned accounts.
  • Design and implement effective portfolio analysis, profit and retention strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders regarding portfolio management strategy and maintenance of 'one voice' with brokers.
  • Monitor/report on status of open claims for assigned accounts and make recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting Quality and Compliance:
    • Adhere to underwriting, compliance and file documentation standards and workflows.
    • Evaluate and accept or decline new lines, renewals, and endorsements.
    • Evaluate and recommend acceptance or declination on risks exceeding authority.
  • Sales and Marketing:
    • Achieve individual performance targets and develop/implement a business development strategy to prospect for new business across product lines and broker segments.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable ability to proactively identify and implement intelligent solutions to unique underwriting situations.
  • Expertise in pricing techniques, alternative risk transfer and reserves development by individual case and by account.
  • Working knowledge of key accounts and understanding of underwriting appetites.
  • Judgement and experience to tailor coverage and policies as needed.
  • Familiarity with products/services and ability to negotiate effectively.
