Agricultural Business Development Manager

Elders Rural seeks an experienced Territory Sales Manager to join its team in Kingston. This permanent, full-time role offers a unique opportunity to develop your career in the agricultural sector.
The successful candidate will have excellent sales and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with clients and industry partners. If you are passionate about livestock sales and have a passion for effecting real change in your community, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Territory Sales Manager at Elders Rural, you will be responsible for providing expert livestock sales support and insights to clients. You will assess and prepare livestock for market to obtain maximum value for clients, working both in-branch and travelling the countryside.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and grow a strong portfolio of new and existing clients
- Identify and cultivate new livestock sales opportunities
- Develop and grow relationships with key industry partners, including exporters and processors
- Provide professional onsite livestock advice to clients, recommending appropriate products and services to strengthen their business
- Employ tactful negotiating skills to bring buyers and sellers together
- Maximise promotional opportunities, including assisting at industry and community events
About You
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A passion for livestock sales and an active interest in safe livestock handling
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills
- Ability to provide high-level customer service and cultivate relationships with potential and current clients
- Livestock Assessor Accreditation, or the willingness to become licensed after undertaking training offered by Elders Rural
