Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented District Legislative Aide to join our team at the Florida Legislature. As a key member of our staff, you will provide administrative support to our Senator and assist with various tasks related to legislative affairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the Senator, including managing calendars, coordinating travel arrangements, and preparing correspondence.
  • Legislative Research: Conduct research on various legislative topics, including policy analysis, bill drafting, and committee work.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between the Senator's office and constituents, responding to inquiries and providing information on legislative matters.
  • Event Planning: Assist with planning and coordinating events, such as town hall meetings and legislative briefings.
  • Policy Development: Help develop and implement policies related to legislative affairs, including researching and analyzing data.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: One year of administrative experience, preferably in a legislative or government setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in Government or Politics: Experience working in government or politics, including knowledge of legislative processes and procedures.
  • Strong Writing Skills: Ability to write clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other documents.
