We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant/Research Fellow to join our team at RMIT University. The successful candidate will undertake research activities in line with the University's research strategy, with the opportunity to work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop.
About the Role
The Research Assistant will contribute to research activities, while the Research Fellow will carry out independent and/or team research that has a significant impact in the area of their specialisation. Both roles are expected to be acknowledged at a national level as being influential in expanding the knowledge of their relevant discipline.
About You
For Level A appointment, you will have an excellent track record and high-quality research outputs in one or more of the following areas: design and construction of innovative structures; digital design for free-form architecture; high-performance computation, cloud computing, computer programming, and graphic user interface; robotic fabrication and advanced manufacturing technologies.
You will also have demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a research team and independently when required, to meet project outcomes and milestones.
Additionally, you will be able to supervise higher degree by research students.
For Level B appointment, you will have experience to supervise higher degree by research students, ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate research funding through effective liaison with industry and government.
You will also have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills appropriate for interacting with research students, staff, and external stakeholders, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications:
Level A: Completed, or will complete within the next six months, PhD in a relevant field.
Level B: PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
