At ING, we're seeking an exceptional Strategic Risk Manager to join our team as a Risk Transformation Expert. This 12-month fixed-term contract offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our risk management framework.

We're looking for someone with a deep understanding of Non-Financial Risk (NFR) frameworks and systems, as well as industry best practices. As a key member of our NFR Management team, you'll play a strategic role in ensuring the effective review, challenge, and advisory of risks delivered through significant change initiatives.

This is a senior appointment created to support our NFR team with IBAL's risk transformation program of work. Your expertise will be instrumental in advising and influencing the design and implementation of key risk deliverables.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, adaptable to various audiences, including first-line business, project experts, and Executive Committee members.

About this role:

  • Support the Mortgages Origination Transformation (Change Initiative) with 2LOD risk deliverables, particularly those requiring 2LOD NFR review, challenge, and opinion/endorsement;
  • Assist in the development, embedding, and management of non-financial risk management and its associated frameworks across the business;
  • Contribute to operational risk reporting, including the business unit's Non-Financial Risk profile, emerging risks, and effectiveness of the Non-Financial Risk Management Framework;
  • Lead and own key deliverables within programs related to the NFR Framework design and implementation;
  • Provide strategic design and implementation advice to adjacent risk transformation deliverables impacting the NFR Framework;

About You:

  • Excellent understanding of NFR frameworks and associated components, such as Risk Assessments, Issues, Controls, Assurance, Product Approvals, etc.
  • Financial Services background with 10+ years' experience in Risk (NFR including Compliance) in 1st or 2nd line of defence;
  • Previous experience in risk transformation programs and/or the design, development, and improvement of NFR Frameworks;
  • Exceptional understanding of delivery frameworks;
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator, adaptable to various audiences.

Estimated Salary: AU$150,000 - AU$200,000 per annum, depending on experience.
