Job Description:
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-level administrative services that support the smooth and effective operation of outpatient services. Your work will play a critical role in ensuring patients receive timely, well-organised, and compassionate care.
The clerical model in place includes various roles that promote a diverse and adaptable workforce, encourage skill development, and ensure a fair distribution of workload and consistent leave coverage.
In this position, you will be a key point of contact for patients and families, providing a welcoming and professional first impression. Your ability to manage appointments, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with both clinical staff and the public will directly contribute to a positive experience for every person accessing outpatient services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a reception service to meet the daily requirements for outpatient services
- Create and maintain patient information in a timely manner
- Monitor and manage waitlists for all specialties and ensure patients are booked within timeframe of category
- Ensure all appointments are correctly booked and patients are appropriately notified
- Receive and respond to outpatient-related telephone calls
- Update and maintain database as required
- Submit invoices to private health funds as required
Requirements:
You will bring proven experience in a range of administrative duties, with a strong focus on frontline customer service. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with your approachable and professional manner, will enable you to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues alike.
