Melbourne, a hub for financial services in Australia, is the location of this exciting opportunity as an Operational Risk Manager with Anton Murray Consulting.

This contract role within Wealth Management requires someone who can develop relationships with staff, monitor risk indicators, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing strong working relationships with branch staff to promote a robust risk culture.
  • Identifying risk issues and providing guidance to State Managers and Head of Branch Supervision.
  • Providing advice on regulatory and risk obligations to advisers and managing the firm's advice framework.
  • Preparing key risk indicator reports and investigating material risks.
  • Conducting detailed account reviews, preparing reports, and working closely with the Legal & Compliance team.
  • Contributing to projects and enhancing the supervisory framework with other risk functions.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum 3-4 years of experience in compliance or risk management within a financial services setting, preferably with an equities focus.
  • First-line Defence risk experience is essential.
  • A university degree in Finance, Business, or Economics is preferred but not required.
  • Recognised industry qualifications are advantageous, but not necessary.
  • Accreditations like ASIC RG 146 and ASX Accredited Derivatives Adviser (ADA Level 1) are desirable.
