Electrical and Mechanical Equipment Technician

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Equipment Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and installing electrical and mechanical equipment.

Your expertise will be utilized to carry out repairs, modifications, and upgrades of existing machines, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on automated packaging and processing equipment
  • Install new machinery and assist with commissioning to customer requirements
  • Carry out modifications and upgrades of existing machines
  • Execute troubleshooting and repair tasks using mechanical aptitude and electrician skills
  • Maintain internal relationships through effective communication and collaboration

You will work closely with the sales and technical teams to provide effective communication and support. With opportunities for regional travel throughout Victoria and occasional interstate or international travel, this role offers a chance to explore new places and experiences.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Electrician with mechanical aptitude or a mechanical trade + restricted electrical license
  • Experience in electrical troubleshooting (extra low voltage 24 VDC)
  • Knowledge of motor and drive technologies (servo motors) and PLC control technology
  • Strong computer knowledge, network structure, ethernet, EtherCAT, and serial communication protocols
  • Experience in the food industry with packaging and processing equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a methodical approach to solving technical issues
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, and drawings
  • Intermediate knowledge in MS Office with comfort using various apps/software on associated devices
  • Driver's license
