About the Role

Amazon's Retail team in Sydney is seeking a Category Development Manager to drive the identification, onboarding, and launch of new supplier opportunities. As a key member of the Amazon flywheel, you will leverage data to identify customer selection gaps across multiple categories, establish strong relationships with suppliers, and manage these relationships to ensure successful launches and ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Utilize market trend analysis to identify relevant customer selection opportunities.
  2. Own the end-to-end sales cycle for new supplier recruitment, from prospecting to post-launch account management.
  3. Negotiate with C-suite level suppliers to onboard new partners.
  4. Educate new suppliers on Amazon's tools and systems to enable self-sufficiency in managing their catalog, inventory, and performance.
  5. Drive business and financial objectives to grow Amazon's Retail business.
  6. Identify opportunities to improve the Retail business for suppliers through scalable solutions and manage their implementation.
  7. Collaborate closely with category, marketing, supply, product, and other key internal Amazon stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. 3+ years of experience with Excel.
  2. 4+ years of retail, operations, product, or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience.
  3. Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience.
  4. Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership.
  5. Excellent written and oral presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional internal and external audiences.
  6. Experience managing large data sets and utilizing them to drive performance and process improvements.
  7. Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing, promotion, inventory management, and product development.
  8. Experience using CRM tools such as Salesforce to track sales cycle activities.
