Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to provide commercial support and drive favorable outcomes for our business.

The role encompasses review and negotiation of tenders, customer supply contracts, and addresses a broad range of other commercial issues in the region.

The Commercial Manager reports directly to Director Strategy and works with key internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support commercial contract negotiations, coordinating commercial review within tender deadlines, reviewing and negotiating commercial terms, obtaining required input/approvals, and finalizing approval and execution by business for tender submissions and customer supply contracts.
  • Oversee and review the execution and compliance to contracts, managing variation requests, change requests, directions, orders, and notices under contract terms.
  • Have knowledge on commercial best practices, review and understand business risk, and support business decisions.
  • Support the Regional Strategic Leadership team on commercial issues, such as warranties and delay.
  • Be familiar with industry standards and advise the business on coverage issues when required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of tender and/or commercial contract experience as contract manager or advisor.
  • Industry experience highly desirable but not required.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and understand commercial ramifications of contract provisions.
  • Ability to draft legal contract amendments/clauses.
  • Good commercial sense and excellent commercial contracting skills.
  • Effective communicator who can speak fluently in lay terms to a range of audiences about the business and legal priorities, risk, and challenges.
