Job Title:

Commercial Contracts Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead commercial contract negotiations, review and negotiate terms, and oversee execution and compliance.

This role encompasses a range of commercial issues, including tender reviews, customer supply contracts, and variation requests. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Weir Group Commercial manual and be able to support business decisions with risk analysis and insurance advice.

Responsibilities:

  • Support commercial contract negotiations, coordinating commercial review within deadlines and reviewing negotiation outcomes.
  • Oversee and review the execution and compliance to contracts, managing variation requests, change requests, directions, orders, and notices under contract terms.
  • Have knowledge on the Weir Group Commercial manual, review and understand business risk, and support business decisions.
  • Support the Regional Strategic Leadership team on commercial issues, such as warranties and delay.
  • Be familiar with Weir Group Insurance policies and advise the business on coverage issues when required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of tender and/or commercial contract experience as contract manager or advisor.
  • Mining/engineering/construction industry experience highly desirable but not required.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and understand commercial ramifications of contract provisions.
  • Ability to draft legal contract amendments/clauses.
  • Good commercial sense and excellent commercial contracting skills.
  • Effective communicator who can speak fluently in lay terms to a range of audiences about the business and legal priorities, risk, and challenges.
