Commercial Contracts Specialist

\

We are seeking a seasoned commercial contracts professional to provide expert support and drive favourable outcomes for our Australian and APAC business.

\

The role encompasses review and negotiation of tenders, customer supply contracts, and addresses a broad range of other commercial issues in the Australasian region.

\

You will report directly to the Director Strategy - APAC and work closely with Sales Directors, General Managers, and other key stakeholders to deliver desired commercial outcomes.

\

Key Responsibilities:

\

  • Support commercial contract negotiations, including coordinating reviews, obtaining required input/approvals, and finalizing tender submissions and customer supply contracts.

  • Oversee and review the execution and compliance to contracts, managing variation requests, and addressing change requests under contract terms.

  • Have knowledge on our commercial manual, reviewing and understanding business risk, and supporting business decisions.

  • Work with the Regional Strategic Leadership team (SLT) on commercial issues, such as warranties and delay.

  • Be familiar with our insurance policies and advise the business on coverage issues when required.

  • Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

Job Requirements/Education and Qualifications:

\

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tender and/or commercial contract management, preferably in mining/engineering/construction industries.

  • Ability to read, analyse, and understand commercial ramifications of contract provisions/translate contract provisions for the business and manage exposure to deliver effective commercial solutions.

  • Ability to draft legal contract amendments/clauses.

  • Good commercial sense and excellent contracting skills.

  • Effective communicator who can speak fluently about the business and legal priorities, risk, and challenges.
