Your New Role

The Wealth & Capital Markets (W&CM) platform manages investments, property assets and developments (and associated debt facilities) and provides advice and trustee services.

As a Fund Accountant within the W&CM platform, you will provide support to the management within the finance and accounting functions in respect of the Friendly Society Benefit Funds. The Fund Accountant is primarily responsible for maintaining systems and procedures to facilitate efficient and effective levels of financial control within the division and is a strategic partner with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Prepare daily bank and general ledger reconciliations for Australian Benefit Fund application and redemption accounts.
  • Investigate and clear reconciliation items within required timeframes and escalate where appropriate.
  • General communications and liaison with custodians and banks.
  • Processing of management fee rebates.
  • Assist with daily unit pricing (Benefit Funds).
  • Assist with half-year and end-of-year projects.
  • Ensure processes are continually reviewed and enhanced so that they are efficient, effective, and relevant for the Benefit Fund function.
  • Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders.

About You:

  • More than three years of experience in a similar fund accounting role within a large finance organisation.
  • Experience in Friendly Society is highly preferred.
  • Unit pricing experience.
  • Reconciliation experience.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to cultivate productive and effective relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate well with others.
