At Goldman Sachs, we're looking for a skilled Senior Financial Controller to join our team in Melbourne. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the firm meets all financial control and reporting obligations.

About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a qualified accountant with 3-5 years of experience in US GAAP and/or IFRS. You'll work closely with other areas within Controllers, both in Australia and globally, as well as with other divisions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain the books and records for the firm's subsidiaries
  • Prepare reporting packages under US GAAP
  • Prepare financial statements under relevant local GAAP
  • Prepare regulatory and statistical returns to regulators and government agencies
  • Ensure that control standards are maintained and documented

As a Senior Financial Controller, you'll have the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of the securities business and financial products industry.

Requirements
  • 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, with working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS preferable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a desire to succeed
  • Strong control awareness
  • Team player
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$180,000 AUD, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits, including competitive remuneration, comprehensive health insurance, and generous superannuation contributions.
