Hotel Accountant Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Hotel Accountant to join our Finance Team at Stamford Grand Adelaide. As a key member of the team, you will support the Area Financial Controller in ensuring accurate and compliant accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain precise and organized financial records, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
  2. Accurately prepare month-end accounts and reports, providing comparisons to forecasts and budgets.
  3. Track and report revenue and expenses, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  4. Collate and organize financial statements and reports, providing insights for business decision-making.
  5. Conduct financial audits as required, ensuring the integrity of accounting processes.
  6. Establish productive working relationships with department heads, improving their understanding of financial systems and procedures.
  7. Assist the Area Financial Controller in ensuring Cost Control and Purchasing Departments operate within set budgets and as per legislation.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel, with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively time manage large workloads, meeting deadlines and performing well in pressure situations.
  • Authentic interpersonal and communication style, with a mature and pleasant attitude.
  • Experience within a 5-Star branded Hotel operation, with a tertiary qualification and full-time working rights in Australia.
