About the Role

As an electrical inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across the Jemena electricity distribution network.


  • Attend to customer inquiries, assisting with compliance issues related to rules, regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Consult with customers on switchboard and SLD drawings, metering, and supply arrangements.
  • Meet with customers and project managers at sites to discuss compliance matters.
  • Support the Network Connections team with all metering and connection or customer project queries.
  • Collaborate with the Dispatch and Control Room to address faults and emergencies.
  • Provide technical guidance to internal staff and electricity professionals.
  • Investigate customer complaints regarding defects in relation to metering and servicing appointments.
  • Work with customer relations to investigate, finalise, and close defects issued to customers.
  • Facilitate and complete customer connections to the network.
  • Timely completion of works activity records and other work-related documentation using digital work platforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll bring a solid understanding of regulatory requirements of the ESA, ES(G)R's, VSIR's, AS3000, AS2067, AS3010, AS5033, AS5139, and VESI ISTC procedures. You should also have proven skills in inspection, customer service, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work autonomously or closely within a team environment.


  • A Grade Electrical Licence.
  • G Class Electrical Inspectors Licence (V Class endorsement highly desirable).
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • ESI Worker Card.
