Leadership Opportunity in Oncology Nursing

The GenesisCare team is seeking a highly experienced Oncology Nurse Unit Manager to lead our nursing team at our Frenchs Forest clinic. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in driving our mission to deliver exceptional patient care and improve life outcomes for patients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the nursing team to achieve strategic objectives and organisational values
  • Provide advanced oncology nursing knowledge and skills, leadership, and effective communication to ensure a positive workforce
  • Collaborate with Centre Leaders, Directors of Nursing, and Quality Managers to implement evidence-based best practices
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, and education of nursing staff
  • Lead project initiatives and participate in project groups as required

Requirements:

  • Registration as a nurse with AHPRA
  • Clinical experience as a nurse - 5 years with at least 3 years medical oncology experience
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy for patients and their carers
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, commitment to quality improvement and best practice principles

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Radiation Oncology nursing experience
  • Postgraduate qualifications or experience in acute care, management, or healthcare administration
  • Leadership experience and ability to manage people effectively
  • Ability to facilitate change management and create an environment that develops staff potential
