Senior Claims Officer Financial Lines

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of complex financial lines claims and be able to manage them effectively. They should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

About the Role
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of high-risk financial lines claims is a key aspect of this role. The successful candidate will need to be able to analyze complex data, identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Providing specialist technical advice on policy coverage, liability, quantum, strategy, and reserving is another crucial responsibility. This will involve working closely with underwriters and claims managers to ensure that claims are handled efficiently and effectively.
  • External service providers, including external legal panels, will also need to be managed by the successful candidate. This will involve building relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that services are delivered to a high standard.
  • Maintaining accurate claim reserves in accordance with industry guidelines and practices is essential. This will involve analyzing data, identifying trends, and making informed decisions about how to allocate resources.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3-4 years' experience in financial lines / professional indemnity claims is required. Experience mentoring claims staff in technical roles would be highly desirable.
  • Qualifications in law, business, or insurance are also essential. A Diploma in Financial Services General Insurance would be an advantage.
