The Senior Claims Manager role at EML Group is a critical position that requires a high level of expertise and experience in managing workers compensation claims. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of claims to achieve the optimum outcome of early and sustainable return to work with reasonable claim costs.

The ideal candidate will have minimum 3 years of experience managing claims within the New Zealand Accident Compensation Scheme and currently reside in New Zealand to be eligible for relocation bonus. They must also possess empathetic, resilient, and motivational approach to provide customer centric support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Pro-actively manage a portfolio of workers compensation claims
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, employers, brokers, rehab providers and other stakeholders to create an effective Return to Work strategy
  • Assist the worker and employer with the claim process, providing support, managing expectations and ensuring timely access to required services to support return to work and injury recovery
  • Assess aspects of liability and recovery relevant to the legislation or policies while undertaking ongoing reviews in relation to entitlements and payments
  • Respond to escalations and provide coaching and mentoring to other members of the team
About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional who can demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing claims within the New Zealand Accident Compensation Scheme
  • Currently residing in New Zealand to be eligible for relocation bonus
  • An empathetic, resilient, and motivational approach to provide customer centric support
  • A driven professional with highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Careful consideration to detail with a high concern for accuracy to manage stakeholder engagement
  • A team player who likes to work collaboratively and can also work independently
