Technical and Quality Manager

Your Next Opportunity

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical & Quality Manager to lead and represent Boral's ready-mix concrete product services across Tasmania.

You will be responsible for overseeing aspects of our concrete and quarry supply including mix design, performance, market acceptance, sourcing and implementing innovative solutions to meet customer demands and projects. Your well-developed leadership skills will assist you in mentoring and developing a dedicated team.

You will also lead and direct regional quality activities including KPI metrics, measurement, reporting and following up actions.

Your day will involve:

  • Full responsibility and autonomy for Tasmania's Technical Services department across our Concrete and Quarries operations
  • Leading and providing assistance to a team of Lab Technicians and a Lab supervisor
  • Oversight of product design development and maintenance in accordance with AS1379, NATA Certification and our customer requirements
  • Effectively using operational excellence to nurture ideas, optimize materials, develop strategies, and invest in continuous improvement
  • Providing hands-on mentorship and guidance to our technical, sales, and production teams and providing advice on implementation of plans
  • Staying informed on strategies and the success factors necessary for future business performance and sustained improved profitability
  • Frequent travel to sites located across Tasmania to oversee key functions

What We're Looking For:

  • A proven track record within the concrete, civil construction industry or similar
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Concrete and quarry products, materials, and production
  • Strong leadership attributes including people management skills, passion, and drive to mentor and develop staff
  • The ability to manage, influence, and build rapport with stakeholders from a variety of functions to effectively manage projects
  • Advanced computer skills with strong proficiency with relevant technical systems - QestMix, QestLab, and Command will be highly regarded
