Job Description

As a proactive Health, Safety & Environment Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in driving bold improvements in health, safety, wellbeing and environmental outcomes across our national operations.

You will act as a strategic partner to our operations leaders, leading initiatives, managing risk, supporting incident investigations, and coaching teams to continuously improve HSW performance across the business.

This newly created role will be instrumental in building and embedding a proactive, people-focused health and safety culture across our teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive implementation of HSE strategy, plans, and wellbeing initiatives.
  2. Provide expert guidance and practical support to operational leaders across multiple sites.
  3. Investigate health, safety, and environmental incidents; identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  4. Build capability at all levels through training, mentoring, and hands-on partnership.
  5. Contribute to broader sustainability initiatives in collaboration with the Environment and Sustainability team.
  6. Lead continuous improvement in HSE processes, reporting, and compliance across the Intermodal, Linehaul, and Fleet teams.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in a similar HSE advisor or business partner role, ideally in transport, logistics or heavy industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in incident investigation and driving continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching and influencing skills.
