About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infection Prevention and Control Specialist to join our team at Healthscope's Victorian Rehabilitation Hospitals. As a key member of our nursing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection prevention and control practices across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of infection prevention and control strategies to protect patients, staff, and visitors from healthcare-associated infections.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, and to drive continuous improvement in infection prevention and control practices.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to staff on infection prevention and control practices, and ensure that all staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Relevant health professional qualification and experience, demonstrating a high level of clinical nursing knowledge, clinical experience, and skill in acute care nursing, with a minimum of three years' clinical experience in this area.
  • Proven ability to exercise professional knowledge in providing complex care and to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
