Career Coach for Parents
Workskil Australia Ltd is a leading not-for-profit employment services provider, dedicated to helping individuals achieve sustained financial and social self-reliance.
We are seeking an experienced Career Coach to join our team as a Parent Mentor. This role will provide guidance and support to parents with young children, empowering them to build skills, confidence, and prepare for the workforce.
As a Parent Mentor, you will work a 9-day fortnight, making a genuine impact in the lives of parents. You will be part of an exciting new program, the Parent Pathways Program, which aims to address challenges and concerns within the parent's immediate family, enabling them to focus on their future and career goals.
The program offers a range of services tailored to meet parents' needs, including person-centred case management, vocational and non-vocational support, and referrals to internal and external services. As a Parent Mentor, you will engage with community organisations to develop strong opportunities and provide a calm, respectful, welcoming, and child-friendly service to maintain engagement.
To succeed in this role, you will require excellent communication skills, empathy, and trauma awareness. You will need to effectively work with a culturally diverse range of parents, employers, education and community service providers, and staff. A minimum Certificate III in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent experience is also essential.
This is an inclusive, equal opportunity employer that welcomes applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, applicants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and applicants who have a disability. We deliver a range of employment and community services to children, young people, and their families, creating a safe environment for children and young people in the delivery of these services.
The estimated salary for this role is around $70,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience. If you're genuinely interested in making a difference and want to work in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply. To do so, please submit your resume and cover letter telling us why you're a fit for the role.
