Parent Mentor Role Overview:

The Parent Mentor role at Workskil Australia Ltd is a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of parents and their young children. As a Parent Mentor, you will be part of a dedicated team providing person-centred case management and tailored support to eligible parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address vocational and non-vocational needs of parents
  • Support parents' aspirations through expert guidance and referrals to internal and external services
  • Engage with community organisations to develop strong opportunities for parents
  • Provide a calm, respectful, welcoming, and child-friendly service to maintain engagement
  • Practice empathy and trauma awareness to build trusted relationships and achieve positive outcomes

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Empathy and trauma awareness
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse range of parents, employers, education, and community service providers
  • Labour Market knowledge
  • A minimum Certificate III in a relevant field or Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development
