Aviation Systems Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Aviation Systems Specialist to join our team at Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Edinburgh, South Australia. As a key member of our Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) Services team, you will play a critical role in supporting Modification and Depot Maintenance for the P-8A Poseidon Program.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team on a range of challenging projects. As an Aviation Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining/ modifying aircraft systems and performing depot servicing requirements.
You will undertake aircraft maintenance activities in support of Product Support Training & Maintenance (PST&M) - MRO Services Capability, including system modification, manufacture, and/or assembly activities for aircraft and aircraft component maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain individual qualifications and certifications associated with Cert IV Aeroskills - Avionics IAW the Boeing Part 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)
- Adhere to all approved maintenance processes and procedures
- Ensure all maintenance has been completed and that corrective maintenance actions satisfy the task requirements
- Carry out aircraft and/or component maintenance duties, including task completion, certification, and finalisation, in accordance with maintenance authorisation
- Use equipment only in accordance with authorised instructions consistent with its safe and proper use
To be successful in this role, you must hold a Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics) and meet Defence security requirements. You will also need to obtain a Defence Security Clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1).
A C class driver's licence is also essential, as is suitability to obtain a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML). You should have a sound knowledge of aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 aircraft maintenance regulatory framework.
Prior maintenance experience in 737NG or derivative aircraft is desirable.What We Offer
