About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Radar Systems Technician to join our Strategic Surveillance Business Unit at RAAF Base Edinburgh, SA.

">

This role involves ensuring the operational availability of ICT and engineering systems in support of the RAAF surveillance capabilities.

">

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting ICT and technical systems to maintain the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) and other relevant surveillance systems.
  • Performing basic system administration functions using the Red Hat operating system.
  • Assisting in system-level fault-finding, including fault management and liaison between customers, field technicians, and engineering teams.
  • Conducting inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure availability of ICT systems, emergency backup power, and cooling systems.
  • Documenting faults and maintenance activities in accordance with engineering procedures.

About You

">

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current Negative Vetting 1 security clearance and ability to apply for a Negative Vetting 2.
  • Broad technical experience across areas such as Radar, Telecoms, Electronics, IT Networking, and Systems Administration.
  • Experience working in customer-focused technical teams and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • An analytical approach to problem-solving, focusing on achieving objectives and effective outcomes.
  • Desirable experience in administering Red Hat Linux, network troubleshooting, RF or radar systems.
