About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Development Specialist to join our Surveillance and Communications business unit in Adelaide.

As a Firmware Development Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and developing new VHDL firmware, maintaining current product lines, and providing engineering support for hardware and firmware.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop new VHDL firmware
  • Maintain current product line, and engineering support for hardware and firmware
  • Collaborate with various engineering disciplines, including software, systems, ILS, and quality
  • Produce detailed design and test documentation and procedures to meet contractual project requirements

Requirements

  • A university degree level qualification in an appropriate discipline
  • Knowledge and understanding of the engineering development lifecycle
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
  • Experience in Intel FPGA VHDL firmware development cycles
  • 3 plus years of experience with Modelsim/ Questasim Advanced Simulator and TCL scripting
  • Hardware level debugging including tools such as SignalTap
  • Familiarisation with TCP/IP and network protocols
