Radar Systems Specialist

Key Responsibilities
As a Radar Systems Technician at BAE Systems, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of ICT and engineering systems in support of the RAAF surveillance capabilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting ICT and technical systems to maintain the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) and other relevant surveillance systems.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Performing basic system administration functions utilising the Red Hat operating system
- Assisting in system level fault-finding, including the management of faults and liaising between the customer, field technicians and engineering teams
- Performing inspections and conducting preventative maintenance to ensure availability of ICT systems, emergency backup power and cooling systems
- Ensuring documentation of all faults and maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with engineering procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a broad technical experience across areas such as Radar / Telecoms / Electronics / IT Networking and Systems Administration.
A current Negative Vetting 1 security clearance and the ability to apply for a Negative Vetting 2 will also be required.
