Family Therapist Opportunity

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team based in Campbelltown.

 

The successful candidate will support women and their children through counseling to strengthen their relationships and begin to heal from the trauma of their experience.

 

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Providing high-quality counseling, psychotherapy, case management, and therapeutic group work.
  • Working with families who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, abuse, bullying, and other forms of vulnerability and disadvantage.
  • Undertaking initial assessments and developing treatment plans that address the needs of the family.
  • Collaborating with other professionals to provide a comprehensive service that addresses the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of clients.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 3 years of experience working with families who have experienced domestic violence and trauma in a counseling setting.
  • A strong understanding of attachment and the impacts of adversity on children's developmental outcomes and relationships.
  • A trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to working with clients using a range of modalities to suit the needs of the family.
  • A clear understanding of child protection and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
  • Excellent time management and organizing skills to balance competing demands.
  • The ability to provide outstanding service to our clients in a positive, respectful, and culturally sensitive way.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in counseling, art therapy, social work, or other related discipline.
