Family Therapist Role

  • This is a dynamic role within our organization, requiring a skilled Family Therapist to deliver in-home family casework services using the Functional Family Therapy - Child Welfare (FFT-CW) model.
  • You will work with families referred by government authorities to address issues of physical abuse and neglect, supporting children aged 0-17 years at risk of further harm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing direct clinical treatment and family casework using FFT-CW principles to promote positive family outcomes.
  • Assessing family needs, strengths, and risks to create child-focused treatment plans, tailored to each individual's circumstances.
  • Conducting sessions in family homes and flexible locations, including evenings as needed, to accommodate diverse client needs.
  • Working closely with government agencies and community partners to ensure collaborative efforts and positive outcomes for families.
  • Maintaining accurate case documentation and participating in model training and supervision to stay up-to-date with best practices.
  • Actively contributing to a cohesive, high-performing team environment that values open communication, mutual respect, and a commitment to excellence.

Requirements:

  • We are seeking a compassionate, culturally sensitive professional with a degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, who possesses at least 3 years of relevant experience in family therapy.
  • Candidates should have a strong understanding of child protection, family systems, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
