Uniting Harris Park, New South Wales, Australia is seeking a skilled professional to join their team as a Child and Family Therapist. This permanent part-time opportunity offers the chance to work 4 days per week, with a flexible schedule that includes one day of work from 10:00am – 6:00pm on Wednesday.
- Job Description:
- This role involves providing individual, youth, and family therapy to repair and strengthen relationships and promote self-determination. You will work closely with other Uniting Counselling and Mediation staff to deliver high-quality services using a multi-disciplinary approach.
- You will also provide child consultation as part of child inclusive practice, supporting families after separation and divorce, including involuntary and court-ordered clients.
- In addition, you will assist in the development, facilitation, and promotion of clinical group work programs within the centre and with external stakeholders.
- Under the direction of the Centre Manager/Coordinator, you will liaise and network with relevant agencies to ensure effective and high-quality services to our clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work or other equivalent and relevant field are essential for this role.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience delivering individual, youth, family, and couples therapy, and/or facilitating group programs is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high conflict individuals, youth, and families with complex issues is crucial.
- Competence in working with issues of family violence and understanding of child protection issues are also essential.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and report writing skills are necessary for this position.
- The ability to work independently as well as contribute to the smooth functioning of a team is vital.
