Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Associate to join our Financing & Advisory Group in Sydney, Australia. The successful candidate will support the origination and execution of structured finance transactions, particularly in the Mining, Metals, and related industries sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Modeling: Prepare, customize, optimize, and maintain financial models supporting advisory mandates, including creating and running financial scenarios and sensitivities.
  • Transaction Support: Provide day-to-day transaction support, including structuring, pricing, preparing credit applications, undertaking detailed financial analyses, and due diligence analyses.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to relevant compliance practices and internal requirements in relation to advisory & lending transactions.
  • Team Collaboration: Supervise and develop junior team members while maintaining a high quality of overall team execution.
  • Business Development: Identify potential marketing opportunities and prepare pitch material.
  • Client Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with clients and prospects.

Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Law) or a professional financial qualification.
  • Experience: 3-5 years' relevant experience in Mining & Metals finance and sector knowledge, or another structured finance environment.
  • Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel, strong financial modeling skills, and experience in generating pitch material.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Ability to contribute to team efforts, consistency and rigour in following up on clients' needs, and discipline and team collaboration.
