Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and maintaining financial models for advisory mandates, including creating and running financial scenarios and sensitivities.
  • Interrogating financial models for financing mandates, including creating and running sensitivities and checking integrity.
  • Reviewing and supervising financial modelling tasks undertaken by junior staff, and completing more complex modelling tasks where required.
  • Staying up-to-date with developments across sectors, particularly Mining & Metals finance, as well as current transactions and opportunities in the market.
  • Providing day-to-day transaction support, including structuring, pricing, preparing credit applications, and undertaking detailed financial analyses and due diligence analyses.
  • Respecting all relevant compliance practices and other internal requirements in relation to the execution of advisory & lending transactions.
  • Managing internal processes relating to the arranging and advisory business.
  • Identifying potential marketing opportunities and preparing pitch material.
  • Establishing a network of contacts at key clients and prospective clients.
  • Supervising and developing junior team members.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in a relevant discipline, such as Finance, Engineering, Business, Commerce, or Law.
  • Postgraduate qualifications are considered favorably.
  • Experience in Mining & Metals finance and sector knowledge, or another structured finance environment utilizing similar tools, processes, and procedures.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including strong financial modelling skills.
  • Experience in generating pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive in addressing clients' needs.
  • Strong numerical skills with an advanced understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements, and cash flows.
