About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate to join our Financing & Advisory Group in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the origination and execution of structured finance transactions across various sectors, including Mining, Metals, and related industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Modelling: Prepare, customize, optimize, and maintain financial models supporting advisory mandates, including creating and running financial scenarios and sensitivities.
  • Transaction Support: Provide day-to-day transaction support, including structuring, pricing, preparing credit applications, undertaking detailed financial analyses and due diligence analyses.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all relevant compliance practices and other internal requirements are respected in relation to the execution of advisory & lending transactions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other business lines within Financing & Advisory, including Infrastructure, Digital, Energy, and Real Estate, to deliver best-in-class lending and advisory services to clients.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain trusted client relationships, identifying potential marketing opportunities and preparing pitch material.
  • Junior Team Supervision: Supervise and develop junior team members, delegating tasks suitable to their skills and experience while maintaining a high quality of overall team execution.

Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Law) or a professional financial qualification.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in structured finance, with a strong understanding of financial modelling, transaction support, and compliance.
  • Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including strong financial modelling skills, and experience in generating pitch material.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Ability to contribute to team efforts, display a sense of ownership, and prioritize tasks to manage competing deadlines.

Functional Relationships:

Internal: Staff from business divisions and support functions locally, regionally, and globally.

External: Clients, prospects, and external advisors (e.g., lenders, legal counsel, technical consultants).
