About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate to join our Financing & Advisory Group in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the origination and execution of structured finance transactions across various sectors, including Mining, Metals, and related industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Modelling: Prepare, customize, optimize, and maintain financial models supporting advisory mandates, including creating and running financial scenarios and sensitivities.
  • Transaction Support: Provide day-to-day transaction support, including structuring, pricing, preparing credit applications, undertaking detailed financial analyses and due diligence analyses.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to all relevant compliance practices and internal requirements in relation to the execution of advisory & lending transactions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the deal team leader to provide best-in-class lending and advisory services to the client base.
  • Business Development: Identify potential marketing opportunities and prepare pitch material, including reviewing feasibility studies and detailed analysis of financial models.
  • Junior Team Supervision: Supervise and develop junior team members, including delegating tasks suitable to their skills and experience.

Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Law) or a professional financial qualification.
  • Experience: 3-5 years' relevant experience in structured finance, with a strong understanding of financial modelling and transaction support.
  • Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including strong financial modelling skills, and experience in generating pitch material.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Ability to contribute to team efforts to build and maintain trusted client relationships, consistency and rigour in following up on clients' needs, and discipline and team collaboration to develop business adapted to clients' and markets' needs.
