Key Responsibilities

The Litigation and Dispute Resolution Team has stewardship of the Claims Litigation Strategy. They oversee legal risks associated with claims litigation portfolio, including workers' compensation under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 and ensure strategic alignment throughout the litigation process.

Team members provide strategic and legal support and advice to clients on a diverse portfolio of issues, including instructing on Federal Court litigation and proactively managing litigation risk to ensure appropriate consideration of policy and strategic objectives.

Role Overview

This APS 6 Legal Adviser will work closely with senior colleagues to support the strategic delivery of litigation and dispute resolution services, including the oversight and management of risks associated with clients' claims litigation portfolio.

Advisers will resolve problems and manage risk effectively and manage their workload in a manner consistent with the APS Values and Code of Conduct and internal procedures.

Eligibility Criteria and Conditions of Employment

  • A character clearance and Employee Health Declaration are required.
  • A six months probationary period for new engagements is also required.
