About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join Xero, a leading company in Australia, as an External Reporting Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of Xero's financial information, leading a team of accountants, and implementing new processes to improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain Xero's financial reporting to respond to changes in the Group and its environment.
  • Manage a team of accountants responsible for technical accounting, including hedge accounting, software capitalization, revenue recognition, leases, and goodwill impairment testing.
  • Provide technical accounting expertise, including IFRS knowledge, to support management decisions.
  • Oversee the half-year and year-end financial statement process, ensuring accurate disclosures and project managing across the wider accounting team.
  • Manage the audit process, liaising with external auditors for both half-year review and year-end audit.
  • Support the drafting of audit and risk committee papers related to key accounting judgments.
  • Review junior accountants' work and lead initiatives to improve the control environment.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in finance roles, either in a large corporate or big 4 accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and processes.
  • Appropriate qualification, such as CA or equivalent.
