About The Disability Support Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate support worker to provide individualised care and assistance to individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalised care based on specific needs, abilities, and goals. Assist with personal care tasks, medication management, mobility, and daily activities.
- Assist clients during gym sessions to ensure safe exercise performance.
- Foster a supportive environment promoting emotional well-being. Engage in meaningful conversations, provide companionship, and encourage social interactions.
- Assist with daily living tasks, including meal planning, cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
- Monitor physical or mental health changes and report to healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of activities and incidents.
- Collaborate with support teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- High school pass or equivalent (relevant certifications or training preferred).
- Previous experience in disability support or related field desirable.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and sensitivity towards individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety protocols.
- Reliable and punctual with flexibility in working hours.
- Valid driver's license and car insurance.
